Filtered & regulated - the units are normally shipped set for 13.8 volts or27.5 volts. The unit will maintain regulation with input voltages from 96 to 140 VAC.
Lightweight - at just 5 - 9 pounds, each of the units in the series compare favorably with competitors weighing as much as 63 pounds.
Over temperature protection - the power supplies will detect excessive temperature conditions and temporarily shut down until a safe operating temperature is reached.
Fused output - the units are protected against short circuit or polarity reversal in the output by easily replaceable standard automotive type fuses.
Lower operating costs - little heat is generated until the power supplies apply a 70% load, which means less energy use at the site.
Forced air cooling - All of the models have a thermostatically controlled fan to prevent heat build-up. The fan allows these models to be mounted in nearly any position, and the forced air cooling extends component life up to 10 times.
Standby battery "smart charger" / maintainer / controller - do you need to charge and maintain a standby battery for power critical equipment during AC Mains failure? Do you need to recharge your backup battery/batteries in minimum time to be ready for the next adverse event? The IQ-4 "Smart Charger" will silently monitor the standby battery terminal voltage and adjust the DPS output voltage as required to keep the battery fully charged without destructive over-charging. The DPS output voltage will automatically be sety by the IQ-4 for optimum charge rate depending upon battery state of charge. When the battery is fully charged, the DPS output will drop to a minimum value below the trickle charge which stops any over-charging.
Note: the DPS output voltage must be reset to 13.2 or 26.4 VDC for use with the IQ-4 or the battery will be overcharged.
